Giving Back to Education
Dr. Gilmore and his wife, Laura Gilmore, PA C, MPAS, joined many other University of Florida alumni and friends to ensure that the George T. Harrell, M.D. Medical Education Building moved from concept to reality. Their endowments provided for a beautiful reception area for the Admissions center, one of the first stops any prospective medical student would make in the stunning new medical school building. As University of Florida 1990s Alumni Challenge Members, they were also early supporters through the medical building's UF Alumni Challenge initiative, and followed that by making another generous gift to name the Admissions Reception area.

About The New Medical Education Facility
was designed and customized with the students and a forward-looking curriculum in mind. The 95,000-square-foot, four-story facility enabled the college to expand its space for simulation education on the
top two floors. The fourth floor houses a state-of-the-art experiential learning theater that can easily be transformed into a variety of settings, creating real-life scenarios to help
teach students and professionals complicated, high-risk skills. "We intend for this inspirational building to become a model for the College of Medicine and for the
University of Florida." said UF President Bernie Machen.
